Keith Williams' murals are done in a distinctive cartoon-like style. After growing up in south-central Los Angeles, Williams majored in art at California State University, Long Beach. As a youngster he always drew and did cartoons, but it wasn't until his senior year in college that he developed an affinity for painting. He recently spent a year as artist-in-residence at Homeland Neighborhood Center in Long Beach. Williams also does backdrops for bands and illustration work for Motown Records. In 1993 he moved to Oakland, in northern California.
