Description / Interpretation:

South Los Angeles native Jaime Zacarias aka "Germs" is seemingly infected with an innate ability to channel the spirits of our surrealist predecessors, slapping our eyeballs with his grotesque yet amusing iconography and amoeba like characters while simultaneously referencing post-Chicano culture and imagery.  He is known for cleverly stylized Luchador masks given life by their protruding tentacles, surrounded by floating amoebas that playfully flirt with their viewers' imaginations.  Germs has exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, from the Musée d'Aquitaine in Bordeaux France to the Museum of Latin American Art.  His artwork has been acquired by many prominent collectors and has been published in many catalogs and magazines.

The project was created by 11:11 ACC in conjunction with Los Angeles' newly passed mural ordiance to coat the San Fernando Valley with public art.  With the continuing mission of creating an art filled SFV, 11:11 ACC is on the hunt for SFV based public artists and supporters of public art and murals in the neighborhood.  It is 11:11 ACC's goal to fill the streets and facilitate your desire to create and view artwork in public spaces!
