The Marin Salon Series (hosted by Mr. & Mrs. Cheech Marin) and MCLA are proud to present “An Evening of Music & Visual Art.” This music performance by Russian born pianist Natasha Marin and Juilliard trained violinist Radu Piptea will take you on an enchanting journey through timeless masterpieces by Beethoven, Grieg, Prokofiev, and Brahms. This special evening at the intimate Trepany House at the Steve Allen Theater will resound with the romance of the 18th through the 20th centuries.

Featured visual artists: Los Angeles pioneer muralists Wayne Healy, Willie Herrón III, Frank Romero, and Kent Twitchell along with up and coming new generation.

Light appetizers and refreshments will be served.

On Sunday 4/12/15, MCLA's executive director Isabel Rojas-Williams was interviewed about the evolution of LA's public art. From the paintings on the caves to today artists' expression on walls.The documentary, which includes several LA artists, will be submitted to Sundance, among other independent film festivals.

The Gabba Arts District mural tour was guided by MCLA's executive director Isabel Rojas-Williams and artist Jason Ostro, The Gabba Gallery director.

It's proven that a "100 percent of at-risk children in Mural Arts graduate from high school." In LA, MCLA along with the mural community, restored muralists' freedom of expression by stopping the mural moratorium. Together, we're changing lives!

TOMORROW Saturday 4/11 (11 am): The Gabba Arts District Mural tour. Over twenty artists will speak about their artworks! Join us at this great mural tour, which will end at The Gabba Gallery to view the current exhibition, which echoes what’s going on in the Alley. Refreshments will be served. This is a walking tour that lasts 1-1/2hrs, so wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. FREE to MCLA's members!

After the much needed rain, Los Angeles iconic murals were shown in all their splendor under our city's blue skies.

Save the date to come and explore The Gabba Arts District with a Mural Tour on 04/11/15 (11:00am). Guided & created by Isabel Rojas-Williams the executive director of MCLA & Jason Ostro, The Gabba Gallery director (who has led the creation of the murals) will share dozens of murals recently created by emerging artists to beautify and stimulate a healing process to the social distresses their community has faced. Some of the muralists will speak about their murals & the awareness this project has built for them and the community, while helping to regain LA’s title as one of the mural capitals of the world. The mural tour will end at Gabba Gallery to view the current exhibition, which echoes what’s going on in the Alley. Join us to learn about LA's newest murals, followed by viewing artworks at the gallery while enjoying refreshments! This is a walking tour that lasts 1-1/2hrs, so wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water.
