MCLA would love to include youth to help us clean more murals that have been tagged. As it is, we do an amazing job on a shoe-string budget. Give us the funding & we'll keep our mural history alive, our murals clean, and our youth busy and safe.

Education, opportunities, walls availability, but no punishment for our youth! Funding should instead be re-directed to organizations such as MCLA to work with youth in helping us clean murals that have been tagged, thus educating and giving people a sense of pride and ownership for our mural history.

KCET aired this 6 minutes documentary about Siqueiros' 1931 "Street Meeting" for their "Life and Times" segment in 2005. Created by award winning producer Val Zavala, the documentary was nominated for an EMMY Award in August of 2005. On Siqueiros Mural Discovery 10th Anniversary, MCLA celebrates & salutes our friends Val Zavala, Luis Garza, José Luis Sedano, Nobuyuki Hadeishi, and Dave Tourje for their dedication to keep LA's mural history alive!
